Shared note"Nov. 18, Monday, 1918. WF Sargisson saw Stella Black comin up the gangway and decided he wanted to marry her. She was in the Australian Queen Alexandria Nursing Service and had been matron of the officers' hospital in Mombay. Stella died on Dec 3, 1933 at the Lady Willingdon Nursing Home, Madras, from peritonitis following upon an abdominal operation performed by Lt. Col. Anderson, Indian Medical Service." -handwritten notes by Janet Sargisson, about 1985.

"Manly. This is the suburb of Sydney where Stella Sargisson grew up (born 1892) on Addison Street. I bought these mats in 1983. I had found the house on Addison St, a nice white one set back in a good garden, and liked the fact that 3 pictures were taken while she was living there."
