| Shared note | "Nov. 18, Monday, 1918. WF Sargisson saw Stella Black comin up the gangway and decided he wanted to marry her. She was in the Australian Queen Alexandria Nursing Service and had been matron of the officers' hospital in Mombay. Stella died on Dec 3, 1933 at the Lady Willingdon Nursing Home, Madras, from peritonitis following upon an abdominal operation performed by Lt. Col. Anderson, Indian Medical Service." -handwritten notes by Janet Sargisson, about 1985. "Stella was 27 [actually 29] yrs old at marriage"-JDSargisson "Manly. This is the suburb of Sydney where Stella Sargisson grew up (born 1892) on Addison Street. I bought these mats in 1983.
