| Shared note | "The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 37, No 14, p 5, Apr. 7, 1881. In Plainfield, N. J., March 29th, 1881, Austin F. Ross, in the 78th year of his age. He was a native of Metuchen, N. J., where he united with the Presbyterian Church, while a young man. Subsequently, he became convinced that it was his duty to observe the Sabbath, and united with the Piscataway Seventh-day Baptist Church in 1843. In 1868 he transferred his membership to the Plainfield Church, where it was retained until he was called to the Church above, During the last four years he had been an invalid, from an attack of paralysis, and a gradual decay of his mental and physical powers. In spite of this decay, he gave continued evidence that his faith in Christ was clear, and his trust unfaltering. He waited with resignation, but longed to go to his rest. In June, 1833, he was married to Phoebe D. Titsworth, who, together with their children. was permitted to care for him tenderly until the last.
