| Shared note | "The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 27, No 43, p 171, Oct. 19, 1871. In Nile, N. Y., Oct. 4th, 1871, Clark Witter, in the 84th year of his age. Bro. Witter became hopefully converted in early manhood, and united with the 1st Alfred Church, Allegany Co., N. Y. After a residence of some years within the bounds of this church, he removed to the town of Willing in the same county, where a little band of Sabbath-keepers were organized into a church. In this connection he remained until the church ceased to exist as a church. He then sought and found a home in the Friendship Seventh-day Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until removed by death. The general testimony as to his Christian character is that he was truly an epistle known and read by all who were privileged to associate with him. A widow and several children still live to bear witness to his amiable and Christian character. In his case was exemplified the saying, "that a good man obtaineth favor of the Lord." B. F. B. |
