She was born June 26, 1906, in Cowley, to Joseph Samuel Egbert and Caroline Sophia Hugentobler Egbert. Alpha grew up in Cowley, the sixth of nine children. She married Jesse Wells Davis Jr. on May 3, 1924, at her parents’ home in Cowley. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 26, 1962. Alpha was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society and Primary auxiliaries for many years. She loved to raise beautiful gardens and flowers. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting and quilt-making. She was also a skilled carpenter and made the cabinets and closets that still function in her home. Alpha had a sweet smile and a warm heart that touched all those around her. She loved to spoil her grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed getting hugs from her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Jesse Edward Davis of Byron and Shirley Ann Davis Christopherson of Basin; brother, Clyde (Frances) Egbert of College Place, Wash.; grandchildren, Laurie Christopherson Coombs of Redmond, Wash., Dwain (Mary Kaye) Christopherson of Otto, Tammy (Rodney) LaFollette of Provo, Utah, Christie Christopherson of Leander, Texas and Bonnie (Tom) Glenn of Cheyenne; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; brothers, Samuel Egbert, LeRoy Egbert and Owen Egbert; sisters, Farol Egbert Cleary, Ina Egbert Lucas, Berta Egbert Wright and Ethel Egbert Carter; and daughter-in-law, Geraldine Brinkerhoff Davis. Services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Byron, with a viewing prior at 9 a.m. Interment will be held in the Byron Cemetery.
