| Shared note | JAY DAVIS DIES TUESDAY; RITES HERE SATURDAY Funeral Services for Jay Davis, 65, Route 3, Hastings, who died at 10:35 P. M. Tuesday at Pennock Hospital, will be held at 2 P. M. Saturday at the Leonard Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry Campbell, of Dexter, will officiate and burial will be in the Ellis Cemetery. Mr. Davis had been in the hospital three days prior to his death. He had resided in Hastings township for the past seven years and was employed as a boiler fireman at the E. W. Bliss Company where he was a member of Local 414, UAW-CIO. He was born July 1, 1888, in Assyria Township, the son of Alfred and Mary J. (Beach) Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sarah; three sons, Harold, of Prudenville; Elwood, of Battle Creek, and Earl, of Bedford; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Bernice) Gates, of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step-sons; Howard H. Powell, of Oak Park, ILL., and Charles W. Powell, of Grand Rapids, and a step-daughter, Miss Druzella Powell, of Route 3, Hastings.
