The name Lundrigan is a variation of Lonergan, and the old Gaelic name was O'Longargain and was from County Tipperary. It was "ecclesiastical" in past- that is several O'Longargain's were priests. Oral tradition said that the father put the children in the school and took the two older brothers to go "shipbuilding" and would come back to pick them up. The brothers had biblical names, like Peter or Patrick.The 3 brothers that show up in directories are Michael, John and Patrick and Thomas, all biblical names.
